Visit us on Koh Payam - All For Villages

Come Visit our Unique Community

Kids enjoying veggie noodles cooked by the older sisters

All for Villages is a registered non-profit charity and as such relies solely on donations and support from like minded people.  Though the rules for volunteering in Thailand have now changed, you are still able to come and visit us and the Moken Community.  Enjoy time with the children and their families while learning more about their culture.   Often the children and I cook together; providing a healthy lunch for everyone.  A great way to interact with them and allow them to practice their English.

Explore Koh Payam with a Moken Long Tail Boat

Travelling around the island collecting plastic as we go. We then donate this to the Moken Community

Another option is taking a long tail boat trip around Koh Payam with one of our Moken Families.  This is a very unique experience.  They understand the underwater world better than most so know where some really cool locations are to go snorkeling.  All money from the trip goes directly to the family who then can help provide for others in the Community who do not have boats.

Visit the deserted island of Koh Kaem near Koh Payam; very beautiful & peaceful. Great place to hang out

Help Keep our island Plastic Free.

We are all aware of the problem plastic pollution is causing world wide.  Another way to help out during your holiday is collecting and sorting beach/ocean waste with the Moken kids.

This gives them an income as well as teaching them about the importance of recycling & how to manage the ever growing problem.

There are also some very interesting ways to create art with the plastic.  If you have this skill, you would be very welcome to come and share your knowledge with us.  We love to learn !!!

Have a conversation

You will be surprised at how keen many locals are to simply have a conversation in English with you.   It is a skill  everyone need to provide better future employment opportunities.  Tourism accounts for most of the employment during our 7 month high season period.  Without English it is not possible to gain meaningful employment.   So come on; have a chat over a beer, at the pier or on the boat.  Don’t be shy; have some fun and make some new friends.

Our Board member George, regularly visits & has conversations with the older children.

Skills to provide Income

If you are the creative type, we welcome you to come and join our teenage girls as they hand make items which are then for sale during the high season.  Currently they are sewing shopping bags from recycled material, making shopping bags out of discarded fishing nets and creating beautiful macrame bracelets & necklaces.  All this is for sale across the island with all proceeds going directly back to those who create them.  We would love some new ideas !!!!!

Jiab, Baitoy & Baitong creating beautiful hand made macrame that is sold during high season. All proceeds going directly to them
